he Nike Cortez sneakers were first released in 1972. The Nike Cortez official first name was: Tiger Corsair, but in 1972 it was renamed the Nike Cortez after the partnership between Nike and Onitsuka Tiger failed. The original Nike Cortez sneakers were made of leather with seven lace holes, but were also produced in nylon and suede models in the 70's. A women's version of the Nike Cortez sneakers were also released by the name of: Senorita Cortez.
